Uldum is a Pacific Time PvE server.
Below is our 25-man raid schedule (server time). You must make four raids a week, "end" being ~9 server time. As such, we are quite friendly to EST raiders (8- ~12pm EST).
- Sunday - 5-end
- Monday - 5-end
- Tuesday - 5-end
- Wednesday - 5-end
- Thursday - 5-end
- Friday - offnight
- Saturday - offnight
What we expect from potential applicants (the unabashed truth):
Time commitment - This is a raiding guild. As such, it's a responsibility. If you can't make 4 raids a week for the entire duration of the raid, don't bother applying. This also applies to having enough gold to maintain self-sufficiency. If you spend more time farming than you do raiding, you likely don't have the playtime necessary to last long in a progression guild, with respec costs, repairs, and consumable usage.
Stability - Perhaps the most important trait we're looking for and which covers a multitude of things. Your internet connection and computer must be rock solid. Don't apply if you have errant pets, a demanding and bitchy significant other, neighbors/family who drop by unannounced, or other things that consistently and unforeseeably take you away from raiding in the middle of raids. We want shaman who can bloodlust when instructed to do so. We want microphones that don't deafen people with static whenever the push-to-talk button is down. This also applies to personal traits. We don't tolerate emologging or ragequitting. If you're a whiner who randomly AFKs, die in a fire. If your character's legs give out during death runs, you won't fit in here. Everyone runs back after complete wipes unless instructed otherwise. People who AFK during a death expecting to be ressed on their return are scorned and, ultimately, will still have to run back.
Gear - We acknowledge that amazing players can come in not-so-amazing gear for many reasons. However, with easily accessible (and incredible) badge items, along with excellent BoE items, we expect applicants to have the best gear they can obtain. Not having such shows an obvious lack of effort in a toon we'd like to avoid "gearing up".
"Fitting In" - Loyalty is key. Don't bother applying if you're just guild hopping, looking for greener pastures for dubious reasons, will grow bored of farming, whatever. We want people worth making friends with, who are in it for the long haul, like we are. Additionally, TR has a strong guild personality and thus our sense of humor might rub some the wrong way. We don't recruit people who enjoy looking like imbeciles in world channels, nor do we want to have to decipher what it is you're saying from poor command of basic English. If you don't like achievements, you don't belong here. TR believes that raiders should never be satisfied with a kill, rinse, and repeat. Raiders should want a no-crossing-charges-on-Thaddius kill, rinse, and repeat. And once it's been attained, demand it that way every single time. Yeah, it's shitty to sit out during a raid when there's a certain class composition on necessary to do initial encounters. However, those who put the guild first before themselves (and don't relentlessly bitch about it) are truly the kind of people we want to run with. We welcome min/maxers with open arms, since we love theorycraft. That being said, if you have the audacity to argue something moronic (PRIESTS BENEFIT MORE FROM MP5 THAN SPIRIT LAWL), you better have math to prove it. If you can't take yourself being corrected via various spreadsheets delivered in a factual manner, we're not for you. Likewise, we recognize the common fallacy of "I play this class so I shouldn't be told how to ___________ by a healer/dpser/tank." Taking constructive criticism is an absolute necessity and we abhore the former excuse.
Required addons and hardware - If you can't have all of the below (ie. "I'm at an internet cafe" or "My mother is sleeping in my room tonight"), you will likely be subbed out for someone who does have them.
- Ventrilo WITH MIC;
- A boss mod such as DeadlyBossMods or Bigwigs;
- Omen;
- ORA2;
- ZOMGBuffs/Pally Power if you are a Paladin;
One last note - We don't accept any manner of "package deals" without proof of both/all players' raiding competence. You apply seperately, test run seperately, and be accepted on your own merit.
Our apologies if all this sounds callous; we're not intending it to be so. But this way, nobody's time is wasted if we both know in advance whether you'll be a good fit for us - especially in the new development of server transfers.
